Frequently Asked Questions

How much luggage can I bring?
Luggage space on the tour is restricted so the amount of luggage that you can bring is limited to 1 bag per person that weights no more than 15kg and has maximum dimensions of 55 x 40 x 20cm. Luggage larger than this will only be carried if space is available.
What meals are included?
A full Scottish breakfast is included from day 2 onwards. This hearty meal consists of fruit juice; a choice of cereal; bakery basket; cooked items such as eggs, bacon, sausage, mushrooms, tomato and, maybe, a taste of haggis! plus tea or coffee. Vegetarian and lighter Continental options are always available. Lunch and dinner are not included in the price. During the touring day there will be a stop where you can enjoy lunch in a local pub or restaurant. Your driver/guide will be happy to suggest a conveniently located restaurant where you can enjoy good food for dinner.
What kind of accommodation do you use?
We offer lodgings that have been specially selected to enhance your touring experience. You can choose between Guesthouse/B&B or Hotel accommodation:
Guesthouse and B&B
The guesthouses and B&B’s are family run and offer comfortable accommodation in bedrooms that have en-suite bathrooms, tv, tea/coffee making facilities and other facilities. Bedding, towels and basic toiletries are provided. Some guesthouses and B&B’s offer enhanced facilities such as a resident’s lounge where you can relax with other guests.
We select comfortable and characterful inns and hotels. Generally they are a minimum of 3 stars with bedrooms featuring en-suite bathrooms, television, tea and coffee making facilities and other amenities. All our hotels have comfortable lounges where you can enjoy morning coffee. Most have restaurants offering a selection of Scottish and international dishes. Many have lively bars where you can relax and re-live the days experiences with your fellow passengers.Accommodation is spread throughout the communities that we stay in.
Hotels are normally centrally located and the guesthouses/B&B’s seldom more than a 10/15 minute walk from the town or village centre. The coach will drop you off at or close to your accommodation each night and will pick you up in the morning, after breakfast.
What type of room should I choose?
Selecting the right sleeping arrangements can be a little bit confusing so here is a description of what you can expect whether you choose guesthouse/B&B or hotel accommodation:
Single room - this is a room for one person sleeping in a single bed.
Twin room - this is a room for two people sleeping in two separate beds
Double room - this is a room for two people sharing one large bed
Family room - this is a room for three people sleeping in one large bed (2 people) and one single bed (1 person). You should note that a family room (particularly when using hotel accommodation) can be a standard double room with either a sofa bed or a rollaway bed.
All our accommodation, whether you choose Guest House/B&B or Hotel, features en-suite facilities (the toilet and shower are located in your bedroom for your exclusive use.
How do I pay for the admission fees?
Your driver/guide will advise you of the arrangements for each attraction. It’s not possible to pre-pay the admission fees and, generally, credit/debit cards are not accepted so it’s a good idea to have sufficient cash to cover these charges.
Can I join the tour in Edinburgh and leave in Glasgow?
Yes, you can and there is no extra charge to do this. It makes a great way of travelling between our two great cities. The tour is scheduled to return to Glasgow at 19:00 hrs. If you wish to arrange this just email us at  no later than 24 hours after making your reservation. Please quote your booking reference number and request a Glasgow drop-off. We’ll be happy to make the arrangements for you.
