Full Tour Itinerary
From Edinburgh we head over the Forth Road Bridge and into the ancient Kingdom of Fife. Our route takes us past Loch Leven and the Fair City of Perth.
There is a stop for morning coffee in the delightful Victorian resort of Pitlochry before we travel through the dramatic scenery of Glen Garry to reach the wilderness of the Cairngorm National Park. The soaring peaks of the Cairngorm Mountains guide us through the Spey Valley and then our long descent of Drumossie Moor brings us to Inverness.
After a short panoramic tour of the "Capital of the Highlands” we make our way towards Loch Ness, Scotland's largest and most famous loch. Why not mount your own Nessie spotting adventure by visiting ancient Urquhart Castle and taking a cruise on the loch? Later we'll enjoy glorious scenery as we tour the length of Loch Ness and make our way through the Great Glen to Fort William, which sits in the shadow of Ben Nevis - Britain's tallest mountain.
A real highlight is our time in haunting Glen Coe, the "Glen of Weeping". In 1692 40 of the resident MacDonald clan were massacred in cold blood by the Campbells for not forswearing the Jacobite cause. It is said that you can still hear their cries! We'll make a stop in this awe-inspiring place so that you can marvel at the natural beauty of the glen for yourself.
The barren wilderness of Rannoch Moor extends for some 50 square miles and is one of the most desolate and unspoilt areas in Europe. Our descent of the Black Mount will afford wonderful views of Loch Tulla before we arrive in the little community of Tyndrum for a break.
We desend through Glen Ogle to reach Lochearnside. Soon we enter Rob Roy MacGregor country and make our way from the Highlands back into the Lowlands. From Callander it is a short drive to reach the motorway and the direct route back to Edinburgh.

Excellent tour - great tour guides. Josh and Tom were wonderful, great banter, excellent storytellers. The bus was comfortable, with enough stops to stretch, use facilities, etc. Loch Ness was fun, but our favorite stop was Glen Coe, so stunning! It is a full 12+ hour journey, so be prepared. A must do for any trip to Edinburgh, highly recommend.Laura from Arlington, US
