What can I expect on this Signature Extended Tour?
For the discerning traveller a Signature Extended Tour from Scottish Tours delivers a quality Scottish touring experience that offers the very best value for money. Comfortable accommodation, well-paced sightseeing and luxury mini or midi coach travel all combine to create the definitive Scottish experience.
Each tour is hosted by a professional driver/guide, who has been chosen for their extensive knowledge as well as their driving skills.Friendly, courteous and well informed, they’ll be happy to answer all your questions about the history, geography and customs of the places you’ll discover on your tour. And being locals you are sure to get that extra insight. If you should have any problems during your stay, they’ll go out of their way to help.
You will want to see as much as possible, but you don’t want to be rushed. Our tours are carefully planned to strike the right balance, and as well as comfortable coach travel many feature memorable railway or ferry journeys. We often include those little gems, well worth a visit, that most other tour companies drive on by.
As these itineraries are more leisurely, visiting places off the beaten track is easy and makes for a truly unforgettable trip.Having somewhere pleasant to stay after an exciting day of discovery is an important part of your holiday experience. You’ll stay in a comfortable guest house with en-suite bathrooms, tv and other amenities.
Each property has been carefully selected to offer you Highland hospitality at its very best. Start each day with a Scottish breakfast, a hearty meal that will keep you going all day long. Vegetarian and Continental options will also be available if you prefer lighter fayre. Please check out the other FAQ’s for more specific information on this tour. If you have any unanswered questions please feel free to email us at enquiries@scottishtours.co.uk  - we’ll be happy to help.
How much luggage can I bring?
Luggage space on the tour is restricted so the amount of luggage that you can bring is limited to 1 bag per person that weights no more than 15kg and has maximum dimensions of 55 x 40 x 20cm. Luggage larger than this will only be carried if space is available.
What meals are included?
A full Scottish breakfast is included from day 2 onwards. This hearty meal consists of fruit juice; a choice of cereal; bakery basket; cooked items such as eggs, bacon, sausage, mushrooms, tomato and, maybe, a taste of haggis! plus tea or coffee.
Vegetarian and lighter Continental options are always available. Lunch and dinner are not included in the price. During the touring day there will be a stop where you can enjoy lunch in a local pub or restaurant. Your driver/guide will be happy to suggest a conveniently located restaurant where you can enjoy good food for dinner.
What kind of accommodation do you use?
We offer lodgings that have been specially selected to enhance your touring experience. You can choose between Guesthouse/B&B or Hotel accommodation:
Guesthouse and B&B
The guesthouses and B&B’s are family run and offer comfortable accommodation in bedrooms that have en-suite bathrooms, tv, tea/coffee making facilities and other facilities. Bedding, towels and basic toiletries are provided. Some guesthouses and B&B’s offer enhanced facilities such as a resident’s lounge where you can relax with other guests.
Hotel
We select comfortable and characterful inns and hotels. Generally they are a minimum of 3 stars with bedrooms featuring en-suite bathrooms, television, tea and coffee making facilities and other amenities. All our hotels have comfortable lounges where you can enjoy morning coffee. Most have restaurants offering a selection of Scottish and international dishes. Many have lively bars where you can relax and re-live the days experiences with your fellow passengers.  Accommodation is spread throughout the communities that we stay in. Hotels are normally centrally located and the guesthouses/B&B’s seldom more than a 10/15 minute walk from the town or village centre. The coach will drop you off at or close to your accommodation each night and will pick you up in the morning, after breakfast.
What type of room should I choose?
Selecting the right sleeping arrangements can be a little bit confusing so here is a description of what you can expect whether you choose guesthouse/B&B or hotel accommodation:
Single room - this is a room for one person sleeping in a single bed. Twin room - this is a room for two people sleeping in two separate bedsDouble room - this is a room for two people sharing one large bed  Family room - this is a room for three people sleeping in one large bed (2 people) and one single bed (1 person). You should note that a family room (particularly when using hotel accommodation) can be a standard double room with either a sofa bed or a rollaway bed.
All our accommodation, whether you choose Guest House/B&B or Hotel, features en-suite facilities (the toilet and shower are located in your bedroom for your exclusive use.
How many people will be in the group?
The group size is normally between 16 and 29 passengers. At times of peak demand (such as on public holidays) larger coaches may be used.
How do I pay for the admission fees?
Your driver/guide will advise you of the arrangements for each attraction. It’s not possible to pre-pay the admission fees and, generally, credit/debit cards are not accepted so it’s a good idea to have sufficient cash to cover these charges.
What features will the coach have?
