The best way to make a booking is on-line, by clicking on the 'book now' button on the relevant tour page. As soon as your booking is made we will send you a booking confirmation/voucher straight to your email in-box.

How do I call you from overseas?

If you are calling from overseas please call +44 141 258 1818. Please note lines are open between 09:00 hrs and 17:00 hrs UK time.

When should I book my tour?

We would recommend making your booking as soon as your travel plans are finalised. Booking early will ensure that you can travel on the departure date of your choosing.

The tours featured on this website are very popular and sell out quickly.

Do you accept last-minute bookings?

If there are still seats available on the tour departure we can accept reservations up to the morning of departure.

Can you check availability for me?
If you need to check that there are seats available for your party then please contact us by email or by telephone. Please note that availability may change and we are unable to “hold seats' without payment.
How do I pay for my tour?

You can pay for your tour online by using any Visa, Mastercard or American Express credit or debit card.

Are children allowed on your tours?

Children are welcome to travel on almost all the tours featured on this website. The minimum age for participation does vary from tour to tour so please check the relevant tour page for more information.

I will be travelling with an infant. What tours can I travel on?

We have a number of tours that are child friendly for children of all ages. Infants under the age of 3 years travel for free on these tours:

Edinburgh
Edinburgh City Tour

Glasgow
Glasgow City Tour

Inverness
Inverness City Tour

London
Edinburgh by Train
Edinburgh, Scotland’s Capital
Glasgow, The Cultural Capital

Additionally, infants can travel at the child rate on these tours:

Can I bring my dog with me?
We are really sorry but we are unable to carry dogs (except guide dogs) on our tours.
Do you offer travel industry discounts?
We are sorry but we do not offer airline or travel industry discounts
We’re two people booking independently. How do we make sure that we are travelling together?

We ask that each party send us a brief email to info@scottishtours.co.uk. prior to making your bookings. Tell us the name of the tour you are going to book, date of travel and the name of the second traveller.

Once you’ve done this, please go ahead and make your reservations.

All tours have free seating. If you check in for the tour together, you can sit next to your travel companion on the coach.

If you are travelling on a multi-day tour, we’ll do our very best to have you accommodated in the same lodgings.

I would like to buy a tour as a present. Can you help?

Yes we can. We can issue you with a gift voucher for any monetary value that can be used as payment or part payment for any tour featured on this website. Vouchers are valid for 12 months from date of issue. Please click here to purchase your voucher.

Do I need to print my voucher?

EVouchers are available on most of the tours featured on this website. If your tour offers an EVoucher facility all you need to do is upload your voucher to your smartphone or tablet, show and go. Nothing could be easier.

Can you send me a more detailed itinerary for the tours shown on your website?

Published itineraries are note available, but your driver/guide will provide you with a briefing each day outlining the days activities and approximate timings.

Is wifi available?

Most guest houses and hotels provide wifi either on a complimentary basis. Please note that in some cases the signal may be restricted to public areas only. Many are equipped with wifi which is perfect for keeping in contact with friends and family through email and social-networking. On-board wifi works using the 3G/4G mobile phone network so connection speeds will be slower than normal and may not be available in some areas.

Are your tours suitable for passengers with mobility issues?

We’ll be happy to give you specific advice. Please email us at info@scottishtours.co.uk for more information.

Can I bring a wheelchair with me?

You can bring a manual folding wheelchair on most tours. We’re sorry but we are unable to carry powered wheelchairs or scooters.

Please email us at info@scottishtours.co.uk for more information.

Is there much walking involved on your tours?

On most tours you’ll have the chance to stretch your legs at some point each day.

If you have someone in your party who has mobility issues then there is normally an alternative at most stops .

What sort of clothing should I bring with me?

We recommend bringing comfortable waterproof shoes and layered clothing that you can remove or add as conditions change.

If your tour involves travel by ferry or cruise boat you might want to bring a light jacket if you plan to sit out on deck.

Can you give me advice on tipping?

It is customary to acknowledge excellent service by offering a tip.

We are often asked for guidance on the matter. It's such a difficult question to answer; however, we offer these suggestions as being a fair amount.

If your tour was operated by a driver/guide  £7.00 per person per day.

If your tour was operated by a separate driver & guide £5.00 per person per day to each staff member.

Please bear in mind that these amounts are purely discretionary and it is customary to present tips on an individual basis at the end of the tour.

What sort of weather can I expect?
Ah, this is the $64,000 question! It may surprise you to know that we have a very temperate climate in Scotland. The geography of Scotland means that it does rain more frequently in the west of the country and there are stronger winds in the east. If it does rain on your tour we will not be too concerned and neither should you be – we need it to make our whisky!
Where can I purchase travel insurance?

We strongly recommend that you have travel insurance in place for your trip to Scotland, especially if you are visiting from overseas. To purchase a policy speak to your insurance broker or undertake a search on-line.

We would also suggest checking your home policy or credit card contract as many suppliers include travel insurance as part of their offering.

What happens if I miss my tour because I was late?
If you miss your tour because you are late there will be no refund. Please note that this also applies if you cannot locate the tour departure point. We recommend that you arrive at the tour departure point at least 15 minutes prior to the tour departure time shown on your voucher. In these circumstances we regret that it is not possible to move your booking to another tour or date.
I don’t have a local telephone number. What should I do?

We ask that you provide us with a local contact number so that we can reach you if we need to discuss your tour. You can provide a mobile or cell phone number (please include the full number including country code) alternatively if you know where you are staying you can provide your accommodation provider's number instead.

How do I get something back that I have left at my accommodation or on the coach?

On your tour confirmation/voucher we will provide a local contact number. Please call this number as soon as you realise that you have lost an item and the team will do their very best to reunite you with your missing article(s).
