After an early morning departure from London drive to Stratford-upon-Avon to enjoy the architecture of this pretty town on the River Avon. Discover the fascinating story of William Shakespeare’s early years when we visit his birthplace. See the timber framed building where the World’s most famous playwright was born and grew up. Peruse the interesting artefacts and memorabilia that relate to the great Bard’s life.
Head north to York and walk inside the city walls to see the crooked ‘Shambles' a picturesque street full of warped overhanging timber-framed houses. See glorious York Minster, the largest medieval church in northern Europe. At night, enjoy a Welcome Reception with drinks and dinner.
Cross the border into Scotland and see ruined Jedburgh Abbey, en route to Edinburgh. Sightseeing with a Local Expert shows Edinburgh Castle and the Palace of Holyroodhouse at the end of the Royal Mile. Cross over to Princes Street, past the Sir Walter Scott Monument, to explore the elegant Georgian New Town.
On August 5 to 19 departures enjoy a visit to the spectacular Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo at Edinburgh Castle.

Drive through the rolling Border country to Gretna Green, where many eloping English couples have married, then continue to the beautiful English Lake District. Learn about the life of the poet, William Wordsworth and visit his grave in the picturesque stone-built village of Grasmere.
Later arrive in the lively city of Liverpool where you’ll hear the Beatle’s story and see the famed Liver building.

The first stop is the former Roman fortress town of Chester. Walk along part of the city walls, see the Eastgate Clock, cathedral and remains of the Roman Amphitheatre. Discover the unique black and white shopping arcades known as the ‘Rows' before crossing into Wales and heading for the capital of Cardiff. On arrival enjoy an orientation tour to see Cardiff Bay, the historic castle and City Hall.

There are different bedrooms types to choose from, here is what you can expect: Single room - one person sleeping in a single bed. Twin room - two people sleeping in two separate beds. Double room - two people sharing one large bed. Family room - three people sharing a room sleeping in one large bed (2 people) and one single bed (1 person). Please note that a family room can be a standard double room with either a sofa bed or a rollaway bed.
You can bring one suitcase and one carry-on bag per person. The maximum weight allowance and luggage dimensions varies by tour so you should check the tour documentation for the luggage policy that applies to your tour.

Start the day with a freshly cooked breakfast or, if you prefer, there’s always a lighter continental option available too. This tour will depart from a Central London departure point that can easily be reached by public transport. Airport transfers are not offered on this tour.
