Full Tour Itinerary
Your exciting day of discovery starts when you board your luxury coach in Inverness City Centre. Soon the hustle and bustle of the city is left behind and you are touring along the banks of famous Loch Ness. Enjoy the wonderful views as you are introduced to the fascinating history of the loch by your local driver/guide.
Loch Ness is the largest Scottish loch by volume, indeed experts say that it contains more freshwater than all the lakes of England and Wales combined! Find out more about the loch and it’s most famous resident when we stop to visit the Loch Ness Exhibition Centre in the pleasant village of Drumnadrochit.
Next we enjoy a further scenic drive along the banks of the loch to reach Invermoriston. Here we can enjoy a short walk to see the delightful ruined bridge which was designed by Thomas Telford, who constructed the Caledonian Canal.
Urquhart Castle is a magnificent castle that dates from the 14thCentury and was one of a chain of garrisons that controlled the Great Glen. Nowadays it’s a popular place with "Nessie” spotters who scan the waters of the loch that are deeper here than the North Sea! We’ll have a relaxed visit to Urquhart Castle where there is plenty time for you to enjoy the fascinating audio-visual presentation and explore the castle for yourself.
After your castle visit join your cruise boat at Urquhart Castle for an enjoyable 90 minute cruise of Loch Ness and the Caledonian Canal. With breathtaking vistas at every turn this is a real highlight. Keep a close watch and have your camera ready. Just in case!
On arrival in Inverness there is a complimentary coach transfer back to Inverness City Centre.
