Select Day:
Day 1 - London - Stratford upon Avon - York
Enjoy a scenic drive and visit Shakespeare's birthplace and Visitor Centre in Stratford-upon-Avon. View Anne Hathaway's thatched cottage.
Later in the ancient Viking city of York, take a walk along the famous Shambles to view York Minster, which dates from the 13th Century.
Tonight enjoy a Welcome Reception. It's the ideal opportunity to get to know your Travel Director and fellow travellers.

Overnight: Novotel Centre, York (or similar)
Day 2 - York - Hadrian’s Wall - Edinburgh
Head northwards across the River Tyne at Newcastle.
Stop and view Hadrian’s Wall before crossing into ‘Bonnie Scotland’.
Enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Scottish border country before arriving at your hotel in central Edinburgh.
Tonight, why not attend a fun-packed Scottish Evening where you will enjoy traditional Scottish dishes, including a wee taste of haggis.

Day 3 - Edinburgh City Tour and Free Time
This morning discover the elegance of Edinburgh with your local guide on an included city sightseeing tour.
Take a drive through the Georgian splendour of the New Town, with its wide streets and grand squares. Later, cross to the Old Town and drive along the Royal Mile to view the Palace of Holyroodhouse and Arthur’s Seat.
The tour culminates by visiting Edinburgh Castle, perched high above the city atop a volcanic rock. See the Royal Palace, where King James VI was born and St Margaret’s Chapel, the oldest building in Edinburgh.
The highlight of the tour is viewing the Scottish Crown Jewels, known as the Honours of Scotland and the ancient Stone of Scone.
Spend free time exploring on your own or join your Travel Director on an Optional Experience to visit the Royal Yacht Britannia.
Tonight, if your tour departure coincides with performance dates, tickets are included to the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo.
Day 4 - Edinburgh - Lake District - Liverpool
This morning travel through the Border Country and stop in Gretna Green, a popular town with eloping couples. Here the marriage ceremony was traditionally performed across a blacksmith’s anvil.
Admire the views throughout the scenic Lake District.
These scenes provided William Wordsworth with the inspiration to write the poem ‘Daffodils’.
Visit the town of Grasmere and see St. Oswald’s church, where the poet is buried.
Later arrive in Liverpool, the hometown of The Beatles, affectionately known as the ‘Fab Four’.
Tonight is free, so you can enjoy a pint in a local pub or, perhaps, visit the famed “Cavern Club”.

Day 5 - Liverpool – Ludlow – Cardiff
Travel through Cheshire and the rolling Shropshire hills to visit the Tudor market town of Ludlow with its historic castle and timbered buildings.
See the Malvern Hills as you cross into Wales and visit its capital, Cardiff.
See Cardiff Bay, the Principality Stadium and Cardiff Castle before arriving at your hotel.
Tonight enjoy a Farewell Dinner at a local vineyard with beautiful views of the Welsh countryside.
Overnight: Mercure Holland House Hotel, Cardiff (or similar)
Day 6 - Cardiff - Stonehenge - London
Visit Bath, famous for its graceful Georgian architecture, is our first stop of the day. Here we view the Abbey before visiting the Roman Baths.
At Stonehenge, visit the mystical stone monoliths before returning to London, where your memorable holiday ends.

What are optional extras?

What type of room should I choose?
There are different bedrooms types to choose from, here is what you can expect:
Single room - one person sleeping in a single bed
Twin room - two people sleeping in two separate beds
Double room - two people sharing one large bed
Family room - three people sharing a room sleeping in one large bed (2 people) and one single bed (1 person)
Please note that a family room can be a standard double room with either a sofa bed or a rollaway bed.
Can I bring a wheelchair or walking aid with me?
Yes, it is possible to bring a folding wheelchair or walking aid with you. It will be stored in the luggage compartment of the coach whilst travelling.
We’re sorry that powered scooters cannot be carried.
Please note that this facility is only available if you are travelling with someone who can provide you with any personal assistance you may require while on tour.
The coaches used on extended tours are not adapted with wheelchair lifts, so you will need to negotiate several steps to gain access and egress to/from the coach.

Do I need to follow the complete tour itinerary?
Subject to the itinerary it may be possible to join the tour late; leave early or miss a day to pursue your own itinerary (proving the tour is staying in the same hotel for two nights or more, of course).
Please feel free to contact us to discuss your requirements - we’ll do our best to help.
Unfortunately we can’t discount the price of the tour to compensate for any unused portions of the tour.
