Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, this tour includes a stop to visit the Fairy Pools while sightseeing on the Isle of Skye.

The Fairy Pools are a series of aqua-blue pools in the shadow of the Cuillin Hills which are one of the island's main attractions.

The Fairy Pools are located at Glenbrittle on the Isle of Skye and are a series of rock pools filled by crystal-clear water that flows from the Cuillin Mountains.

The pools are said to be where the fairies bathed in the deep blue-green pools of water set against a spectacular backdrop of the towering peaks of the Cuillins.

A walk of 2.4 km along a gravel path is required to reach the pools. We recommend wearing suitable footwear and bringing waterproof clothing.

The stop is around 90 minutes, which provides sufficient free time to walk to the Fairy Pools, admire the crystal-clear waterfalls and pools, take photographs, and enjoy the spectacular views of the Cuillin Mountains before returning to the coach.

Weather on the Isle of Skye can change quickly, so waterproof clothing and comfortable walking shoes or hiking boots are recommended.

Dressing in layers will help keep you comfortable throughout the day.

The tour includes a stop at Eilean Donan Castle, one of Scotland’s most photographed landmarks. T

his allows plenty of time to admire the castle and take photographs, although admission is not included.

No. Lunch is not included, but there is free time in the colourful harbour town of Portree, where you’ll find cafés, restaurants and traditional fish and chip shops.

Feel free to bring your own packed lunch, if you prefer.

With a maximum of just 16 passengers, a Small Group Tour provides a more personal and flexible travelling experience.

You’ll enjoy more time off the bus, with freedom to explore free from the crowds.

In addition to the Fairy Pools, you’ll have time to explore Portree, cross the Skye Bridge, admire the views of the Cuillin Hills at  Sligachan, see Eilean Donan Castle and travel along the banks of Loch Ness on the return journey to Inverness.
