Full Tour Itinerary
We start in Scotland’s capital, exploring the famous Royal Mile which appeared in The Avengers and One Day. Heading west towards Stirling, the imposing Linlithgow Palace – an Outlander setting – may be glimpsed before the rolling countryside gives way to magnificent Doune Castle. Once a royal residence, it’s hosted film royalty including Monty Python And The Holy Grail, Game Of Thrones and Outlander.
After discovering its enthralling history, we head north to the captivating Highlands. Lose yourself in the rebellion, betrayal and patriotism of Rob Roy and Braveheart and appreciate why the impressive and daunting Glen Coe was chosen for filming. Harry Potter and James Bond fans will immediately recognise this unforgettable landscape!
Our adventure continues through the breathtaking Appin Hills to Connel Bridge. The Falls of Lora roaring beneath will astound before we lap up scenery such as stunning Loch Awe and the ruins of Kilchurn Castle.
Downton Abbey fans will adore picturesque Inveraray in Argyll as the town’s eye-catching castle featured in a Christmas special. The spectacular Rest And Be Thankful mountain pass then awaits, before we explore the charming village of Luss on Loch Lomond’s bonnie banks. Bidding farewell to the High Road location, we return to Edinburgh invigorated.

What can I expect on this Signature Day Tour?
Travelling on a Signature one-day tour is a great way to discover the best of Scotland from your city centre base of Edinburgh, Glasgow or Inverness. During your day of discovery we’ll introduce you to many aspects of our country: spectacular scenery, history, folklore, nature and much, much more. There are stops planned at the key sights as well as for meals and comfort breaks. Please note that tours to some destinations, particularly to Loch Ness, can be faster paced so the number and duration of stops may be limited.

Will there be a tour commentary?
Each tour is led by an experienced driver/guide who will provide an informative and entertaining commentary in English. They are Outlander enthusiasts too so as well as discovering more about the history and nature of the landscape that surrounds you they’ll point out the locations that helped fire Diana Gabaldon’s imagination.
What should I wear?
Wear layers as the temperature on the loch can vary. We recommend bringing a rain jacket, just in case!
Can I reserve specific seats on the coach?
Seating on this tour is on a first come, first served basis and cannot be pre-booked. If you are travelling as part of a group please make sure that all members of the party arrive at the departure point together. On the train journey from Inverness to Edinburgh (or Glasgow) you will have allocated seats.
