Tour Summary

If you only have a limited amount of time available and want to see the highlights of Scotland then this is the tour for you.

In just five days you'll discover Scotland's two great cities, tour the bonnie Scottish Highlands, take a cruise on Loch Ness, visit a whisky distillery and much, much more!

Day 1: Arrive in Glasgow. Afternoon City Tour including The Provands Lordship, Glasgowís oldest house.

Day 2: Travel along the banks of Loch Lomond before driving through Rannoch Moor and Glen Coe. Enjoy a cruise on Loch Ness before arriving in your Highland Hotel

Day 3: Travel through the Grampian Mountains to reach Pitlochry where youíll have a tour of a malt whisky distillery. Visit St Andrews before arriving in Edinburgh. This evening attend a lively Scottish show.

Day 4: Morning City Tour of Edinburgh including Edinburgh Castle then free time for shopping. Selected departures will attend the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo.

Day 5: Tour ends after breakfast. Airport transfer available.

Day One
Glasgow Arrival & City Tour
Your Scottish trip starts at 2:30 pm when you meet your tour director at your Glasgow hotel and set out on an introductory tour of central Glasgow. This is a city that flourished in Victorian times due to the shipbuilding industry and international trade. Drive around George Square with its ornate City Chambers and visit Provandís Lordship, Glasgowís oldest house built in 1471. The house was originally part of a hospital and has been extensively restored and furnished. Join your tour director, guide and travel companions for a welcome drink before dinner.

Day Two
Glasgow - Loch Ness - Nairn
Travel alongside the famous banks of Loch Lomond, renowned for its unsurpassed beauty. Travel through the deep valley of Glen Coe, notorious for the Campbell massacre of the Clan Macdonald in 1692. Continue through Fort William and stop at a Woollen Mill, which offers a good selection of quality Scottish goods. At Fort Augustus embark on a short cruise on Loch Ness to keep an eye out for "Nessie.Ē Continue your journey north to Nairn for your next overnight stay.

Day Three
Nairn - St Andrews - Edinburgh
Drive to Blair Athol Distillery in Pitlochry to see how whisky is distilled and then sample a "wee dramĒ. Continue south to St Andrews, renowned as the "Home of GolfĒ and for its university, Scotlandís oldest and spend some time to explore on your own. Drive south to Edinburgh and to your gracious manor house hotel, set on 1,000 acres with two golf courses and spa facilities a few miles from the city. Dine at a Scottish Evening on some excellent Scottish cuisine followed by a lively show with songs, stories and traditional dancing.

Day Four
Edinburgh City Tour & Castle
This morning tour the principal sights of Edinburgh with a local guide. Drive along the bustling Princes Street and through the gracious, wide streets of the 200-year-old Georgian New Town. Walk along part of the Royal Mile where compact medieval houses reach 11 floors tall. Visit Edinburgh Castle, which dominates the city and contains the Scottish Crown Jewels and the Stone of Scone. The balance of the day is free.

On 31 July to 21 August departures, seats are reserved for the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo.

What will I experience on this Premium Escorted Tour?

What type of room should I choose?
Selecting the right sleeping arrangements can be a little bit confusing so here is a description of what you can expect from the hotel accommodation offered as part of your tour:
Single room - this is a room for one person sleeping in a single bed.
Twin room - this is a room for two people sleeping in two separate beds
Double room - this is a room for two people sharing one large bed
Family room - this is a room for three people sleeping in one large bed (2 people) and one single bed (1 person). Please note that a family room is normally a standard double or twin room with either a sofa bed or a rollaway bed. All room types other than twin rooms are subject to availability.
How much luggage can I bring?
You can bring one suitcase and one carry-on bag per person. The maximum weight allowance and luggage dimensions varies by tour so you should check the tour documentation for the luggage policy that applies to your tour.  
What meals are included?
One of the great things about travelling on a Premium Escorted Tour is the generous number of meals included as standard. Start the day with a freshly cooked breakfast or, if you prefer, thereís always a lighter continental option available too. Can I reserve specific seats on the coach?
Seats cannot be pre-booked however your tour director will implement a seat rotation system which will allow all passengers the opportunity of experiencing spectacular views from different seats on the motorcoach. How many people will be on the tour?The number of people travelling on a Premium Escorted Tour will not normally be more than 40 passengers.
Are airport transfers included?
Complimentary transfers are included on day-one from Glasgow Airport to the Glasgow Hotel at 08:00 hrs, 10:00 hrs and 12:00 hrs and on day-five from the Edinburgh Hotel to arrive at Edinburgh Airport at 06:30 hrs and 09:00 hrs.
