It includes a fantastic cross section of Britain's historical towns, traditional heritage, cultural figures and idyllic scenic landscapes.

Day 1: Depart from London and tour to York via Shakespeareís Stratford-upon-Avon.

Day 2: Travel through the Scottish Border country to Edinburgh where you enjoy a guided City tour. Selected departures will attend the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo.

Day 3: Drive to romantic Gretna Green then tour through the picturesque Lake District. End the day in Liverpool.

Day 4: Explore Roman Chester before making for Cardiff, the Capital of Wales.

Day 5: Discover beautiful Bath before visiting Stonehenge and returning to London.

Day One
London Ė Stratford-upon-Avon - York
After an early morning departure from London drive to Stratford-upon-Avon to enjoy the architecture of this pretty town on the River Avon. Discover the fascinating story of William Shakespeareís early years when we visit his birthplace. See the timber framed building where the Worldís most famous playwright was born and grew up. Peruse the interesting artefacts and memorabilia that relate to the great Bardís life. Head north to York and walk inside the city walls to see the crooked ĎShambles' a picturesque street full of warped overhanging timber-framed houses. See glorious York Minster, the largest medieval church in northern Europe. At night, enjoy a Welcome Reception with drinks and dinner.

Day Two
York Ė Jedburgh Edinburgh
Cross the border into Scotland and see ruined Jedburgh Abbey, en route to Edinburgh. Sightseeing with a Local Expert shows Edinburgh Castle and Holyrood Palace at the end of the Royal Mile. Cross over to Princes Street, past the Sir Walter Scott Monument, to explore the elegant Georgian New Town. 
On August 5 to 19 departures enjoy a visit to the spectacular Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo at Edinburgh Castle.

Day Three
Edinburgh - Lake District - Liverpool
Drive through the rolling Border country to Gretna Green, where many eloping English couples have married, then continue to the beautiful English Lake District. Learn about the life of the poet, William Wordsworth and visit his grave in the picturesque stone-built village of Grasmere. Later arrive in the lively city of Liverpool where youíll hear the Beatleís story and see the famed Liver building.

Day Four
Liverpool Ė Chester Ė Cardiff
The first stop is the former Roman fortress town of Chester. Walk along part of the city walls, see the Eastgate Clock, cathedral and remains of the Roman Amphitheatre. Discover the unique black and white shopping arcades known as the ĎRows' before crossing into Wales and heading for the capital of Cardiff. On arrival enjoy an orientation tour.

Day Five
Cardiff Ė Stonehenge - London
Cross the Severn Bridge back into England and journey to the beautiful Georgian city of Bath. Visit the ancient Roman Baths and see the 15th century Abbey. Drive across Salisbury Plain for a visit to Stonehenge before enjoying a smooth journey back to London.

What will I experience on this Premium Escorted Tour?
If you enjoy the art of travelling in comfort and style then a Premium Escorted Tour is for you. Youíll travel in a group that is restricted to around 40 fellow travellers. Travel is aboard a state of the art motorcoach with air-conditioning, on-board WiFi, reclining seats and oversized windows.
For your comfort there is an emergency washroom on-board too.  An experienced tour manager will lead the tour and your coach will be expertly driven by a professional driver. In certain cities youíll be joined by a local guide who will provide local insight and show you the highlights.
These tours are inclusive of accommodation, transportation, admission fees and many meals. Youíll have the chance to personalise your touring experience by participating in some carefully planned optional excursions. Each has been carefully selected for comfort, quality and ambiance located in the best locations close to the shopping areas and the key sights. In rural locations your accommodation will be in the best available hotels. Breakfast is usually a buffet, where you can choose from cereals, yoghurts and the bread basket. From the hot plate youíll be able to select from freshly grilled items and local specialities. A stop is usually made for lunch in a town or city where there is a choice of restaurants available.
Dinner is usually enjoyed as a group and the menu will be table díhote, which means a selection of house specials. On some tours there will be a featured meal such as a Scottish evening, with bagpipers, dancing demonstrations and a taste of haggis!
What type of room should I choose?
Selecting the right sleeping arrangements can be a little bit confusing so here is a description of what you can expect from the hotel accommodation offered as part of your tour:
Single room - this is a room for one person sleeping in a single bed.
Twin room - this is a room for two people sleeping in two separate beds.
Double room - this is a room for two people sharing one large bed.
Family room - this is a room for three people sleeping in one large bed (2 people) and one single bed (1 person). 
Please note that a family room is normally a standard double or twin room with either a sofa bed or a rollaway bed. All room types other than twin rooms are subject to availability.
How much luggage can I bring?
You can bring one suitcase and one carry-on bag per person. The maximum weight allowance and luggage dimensions varies by tour so you should check the tour documentation for the luggage policy that applies to your tour. How many people.
What meals are included?

Can I reserve specific seats on the coach?
Seats cannot be pre-booked however your tour director will implement a seat rotation system which will allow all passengers the opportunity of experiencing spectacular views from different seats on the motorcoach.

The number of people travelling on a Premium Escorted Tour will normally not be more than 40 passengers.
Are airport transfers included?
This tour will depart from a Central London departure point that can easily be reached by public transport. Airport transfers are not offered on this tour.
