Day 1 - Welcome to Scotland l
Our tour starts with a drive into the Heart of Scotland to reach our Victorian-era hotel located in extensive grounds. This magnificent hotel has been carefully restored and offers a health-spa and indoor swimming pool. Enjoy a traditional afternoon tea served at the hotel followed by free time to relax. In the evening join our tour director and fellow travellers for a welcome drink before dinner.

Day 2 - Excursion to Stirling Castle and the Trossachs
After a tasty breakfast we make the short drive to the historic city of Stirling where we visit Stirling Castle. This stunning cliff-top castle is where the Stuart Kings and Queens held court and during our tour we’ll see the Royal Palace, Chapel Royal and the impressive Great Hall. The views from the battlements are simply stunning! Later we’ll enjoy a tour through the picturesque scenery of the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park, known as the “Highlands in Miniature”. On our return to Dunblane the remainder of the day is at leisure before dinner is served at our hotel.
Day 3 - Dunblane - Cawdor Castle - Inverness
We bid farewell to Dunblane and make our way across expansive Rannoch Moor then into hauntingly beautiful Glen Coe where we will learn the tragic story of the infamous massacre that took place here in 1692. Tour through the Great Glen to reach the scenic banks of Loch Ness. We’ll stop to visit the impressive ruins of Urquhart Castle then embark on a short cruise on Loch Ness. The views are captivating and you never know if Nessie, the Loch Ness Monster, might make an appearance! It’s a short drive to Inverness and our castle hotel.

Day 4 - Cawdor Castle and Whisky Trail Excursion
We start our day visiting fairytale Cawdor Castle with its beautiful gardens. This 14th Century castle is reputedly where Duncan, Thane of Cawdor, was murdered as immortalised in Shakespeare's play “Macbeth.” During our guided tour we’ll discover more about the castle’s turbulent past as well as it’s more peaceful role as a family home for over 600 years.
Next is a visit to Johnstons of Elgin where we marvel at the craftworkers who create the finest woollen and cashmere goods using natural fibres sourced from famers as distant as Australia, Mongolia and Peru. Learn the history of this innovative family company who have been working here for over 200 years.
Later visit Glenfiddich Whisky Distillery to discover the fascinating story behind the whisky making process from mashing and fermenting to distilling and maturing. At the end of our tour there is a wee taste of the end product! On returning to our hotel enjoy leisure time before savouring dinner in the castle’s fine restaurant.
Day 5 - Inverness - Glamis Castle - St Andrews
Journey through the rolling Angus countryside to reach Glamis Castle, the fabled setting of “Macbeth” and childhood home of the late HM Queen Elizabeth, Queen Mother. This is an impressive building filled with priceless artworks, objet d’art and furnishings. We cross the silvery River Tay Bridge and make the short drive to St Andrews, the “Home of Golf.” Relax with some time at leisure before enjoying dinner in our hotel which overlooks the famed Old Course.

Day 6 - St Andrews - Forth Bridges - Edinburgh
After breakfast we join our tour director for a walking tour to see the highlights of St Andrews. For golf fans see the famous Royal and Ancient Clubhouse and the popular British Golf Museum. Visit ancient St Andrews Castle and St Andrews Cathedral, which occupies a worship site from the 8th century. See the collection of medieval sculpture, carved stones, and other relics. This afternoon we make our way to Edinburgh, Scotland’s Capital City. Tonight enjoy dining out at a popular Edinburgh restaurant.

Day 7 - Discovering Edinburgh
Discover the history and beauty of Edinburgh on a guided city tour. First visit the wide streets, grand squares and elegant mansions of the Georgian 200-year-old “New Town”. Later travel to the medieval “old town” where we’ll see the narrow closes and towering townhouses along the Royal Mile, the oldest part of the city. Tour the impressive Edinburgh Castle where you view the magnificent Scottish Crown Jewels and enjoy the amazing vista over the city skyline. The rest of the day is free for independent exploring, shopping and dining. On August 2 - 16 departures enjoy the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo on the Castle Esplanade.
Day 8 - Homeward Bound

How much luggage can I bring?
You can bring one suitcase and one carry-on bag per person. The maximum weight allowance and luggage dimensions varies by tour so you should check the tour documentation for the luggage policy that applies to your tour.
Can I reserve specific seats on the coach?
Seats cannot be pre-booked however your tour director will implement a seat rotation system which will allow all passengers the opportunity of experiencing spectacular views from different seats on the motorcoach.
Will I have access to Wifi?
