Full Tour Itinerary
Our journey starts as we make our way out of Edinburgh and across the Forth Bridge where we’ll get wonderful views of the iconic Forth Rail Bridge, which was built in 1890, and the newly completed Queensferry Crossing road bridge. We’ll travel through the ancient Kingdom of Fife seeing Loch Leven along the way. Look out for the ruined 14th Century castle where Mary Queen of Scots was imprisoned.
The appealing town of Perth straddles the “silvery” River Tay, the longest in Scotland. After driving through the attractive highland countryside we reach Glenturret Distillery which was established in 1775 and is Scotland’s Oldest Distillery. Here we are at the home of “The Famous Grouse,” one of Scotland’s most popular whiskies. Our extended stop here will give us time to enjoy lunch in the distillery’s famous restaurant followed by a tour of the distillery with a we taste of the end product! We return to Edinburgh through Gleneagles, the location of the famous hotel and golf courses, then passed Dunfermline once the Scottish capital and burial place of several Kings and Queens.
Our tour concludes with a drive across the River Forth and ends at a central point in the heart of Edinburgh.

What can I expect on this Signature Day Tour?
Travelling on a Signature one-day tour is a great way to discover the best of Scotland from your city centre base of Edinburgh, Glasgow or Inverness. Is this tour suitable for children?
Children over the age of 5 can travel on this tour, however children under the age of 8 will not be permitted into the Whisky Distillery.
Tell me what the visit to a whisky distillery will be like?
A visit to a traditional whisky distillery is a feast for all the senses. After a warm welcome you’ll normally have a short audio/visual presentation on the the history of the distillery and the traditional methods used in the distilling process. Next is a tour of the distillery where you you will experience all stages of the whisky making process from mashing and fermenting to distilling and maturation. Your tour will end with a tutored tasting of a malt whisky and the opportunity to buy a souvenir of your visit in the distillery shop.
Will there be a tour commentary?
Each tour is led by an experienced driver/guide who will provide an informative and entertaining commentary in English. You’ll hear tales of the Clans, bloody battles and the famous characters that have shaped the history of Scotland. You will learn too of the landscape that surrounds you and of the nature that makes Scotland so special. Be ready to have a laugh as well - you’re bound to be told some really corny jokes!
