Tour Summary

This relaxing one way journey from London to Scotland visits many of Britainís must-see sights. Thereís time to explore London, Edinburgh and Glasgow plus the scenic beauty of Englandís famed Lake District and the Scottish Highlands.

Day 1: Arrival in London. Afternoon tour of London including St Paul's Cathedral.

Day 2: Take in more sights of London by open-top bus. Choose to visit either the Tower of London or Kensington Palace.

Day 3: Visit Stratford-upon-Avon and the Beatles city of Liverpool.

Day 4: Explore the beautiful Lake District then cross the border into Scotland. Drive to Edinburgh and attend a lively Scottish show.

Day 5: Morning City Tour of Edinburgh then free time for shopping.

Day 6: Visit St Andrews then tour through the picturesque Scottish Highlands to reach Inverness.

Day 7: Drive along the banks of mysterious Loch Ness then visit awesome Glen Coe. Enjoy a cruise on Loch Lomond before arriving at your hotel.

Day One
London Arrival & City Tour
Your vacation starts at your London hotel at 2:00 pm when you meet your tour director. Head out on a panoramic tour of central London to see famous landmarks including Piccadilly Circus, Trafalgar Square, Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament. Stop to visit St. Paulís Cathedral, with its world-famous dome and awe-inspiring interior. In the evening meet your tour director to discuss your trip over a welcome drink and dine in your hotel.

Day Two
Tower of London & City Sights
Today you can schedule your own London sightseeing when you take an open-top bus tour around the many famous landmarks. There are a number of different bus routes as well as a walking tour and a cruise on the River Thames. Visit either the Tower of London to view the magnificent Crown Jewels or Kensington Palace, home of Princess Diana. You are free to choose a restaurant to dine independently.

Day Three
London - Stratford-upon-Avon - Liverpool
Drive through the Cotswolds, a delightful hilly region with mellow-hued stone houses. Take a panoramic tour of Stratford-upon-Avon  to see places associated with "The Bard", William Shakespeare and view charming black-and-white houses dating back hundred's of years. Continue to Liverpool and a local guide will show you around places associated with various aspects of the lives of the "Fab Four.Ē Check in to your hotel.

Day Four
Liverpool - Lake District - Edinburgh (Uphall)
Travel through the glorious Lake District, associated with the childrenís author, Beatrix Potter, and the poet, William Wordsworth. In the charming village of Grasmere visit Dove Cottage, where Wordsworth lived and wrote. Near the Scottish border stop at the Old Blacksmithís Shop in Gretna Green, a popular shopping venue for quality Scottish goods. Check in to your hotel near Edinburgh and head out to a Scottish evening with special dishes and lively music.

Day Five
Edinburgh City Tour & Edinburgh Castle
Explore central Edinburgh this morning, starting in the 200-year-old "New TownĒ with its planned streets and elegant Georgian houses where many famous writers and inventors lived. See the Royal Mile where medieval houses are clustered and tour Edinburgh Castle to see the Crown Jewels of Scotland and the Stone of Destiny. The afternoon is free for independent activities.
On 04 to 18 August departures, experience the world-famous Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo.

Day Six
Edinburgh (Uphall) - St Andrews - Inverness
Travel north to St Andrews, famous for golfing and Scotlandís oldest university. Take a walking tour around the town with your tour director who will tell you about the famous people and happenings here. Visit the picturesque ruins of St Andrews Cathedral. Take a break in Pitlochry and continue to Inverness, the "Capital of the HighlandsĒ. Check in to your hotel beside the River Ness in the City Centre.

Day Seven
Inverness - Loch Ness Glasgow 
Travel south through more wonderful Highland scenery today, passing the shoreline of Loch Ness with views of this deep lake. Drive past Ben Nevis, Britain's highest peak, and through the towering mountains of Glen Coe, which is famous for the Massacre of Glen Coe in 1692. Take a scenic cruise on Loch Lomond, Britain's largest lake. Enjoy a brief drive around Glasgow before checking in to your hotel.

Day Eight
Depart Glasgow for Home

What will I experience on this Premium Escorted Tour?

Breakfast is usually a buffet, where you can choose from cereals, yoghurts and the bread basket. From the hot plate youíll be able to select from freshly grilled items and local specialities. A stop is usually made for lunch in a town or city where there is a choice of restaurants available.
Dinner is usually enjoyed as a group and the menu will be table díhote, which means a selection of house specials. On some tours there will be a featured meal such as a Scottish evening, with bagpipers, dancing demonstrations and a taste of haggis!
What type of room should I choose?
Selecting the right sleeping arrangements can be a little bit confusing so here is a description of what you can expect from the hotel accommodation offered as part of your tour:
Single room - this is a room for one person sleeping in a single bed.
Twin room - this is a room for two people sleeping in two separate beds.
Double room - this is a room for two people sharing one large bed.
Family room - this is a room for three people sleeping in one large bed (2 people) and one single bed (1 person). 
Please note that a family room is normally a standard double or twin room with either a sofa bed or a rollaway bed. All room types other than twin rooms are subject to availability.  
How much luggage can I bring?
You can bring one suitcase and one carry-on bag per person. The maximum weight allowance and luggage dimensions varies by tour so you should check the tour documentation for the luggage policy that applies to your tour.
What meals are included?
One of the great things about travelling on a Premium Escorted Tour is the generous number of meals included as standard. Start the day with a freshly cooked breakfast or, if you prefer, thereís always a lighter continental option available too. Youíll find a number of evening dinners included which will give you the opportunity of sampling some local delicacies. Can I reserve specific seats on the coach?
Seats cannot be pre-booked however your tour director will implement a seat rotation system which will allow all passengers the opportunity of experiencing spectacular views from different seats on the motorcoach.

The number of people travelling on a Premium Escorted Tour will not normally be more than 40 passengers.
 Are airport transfers included?
Complimentary airport transfers are included on day-one from Edinburgh Airport to the Edinburgh Hotel and on day-eight from the London Hotel to London Heathrow Airport.
