Glen Coe, Loch Ness and Inverness
from Edinburgh
Tour Highlights: Callander, Pass of Leny, Rob Roy Country, Rannoch Moor, Glen Coe, Fort William, Ben Nevis, The Great Glen, Loch Ness, Loch Ness Centre (optional cruise on Loch Ness), Inverness, Spey Valley, Cairngorm National Park, Perthshire, Fife and the Forth Bridges.
Join us on this breathtaking tour that will take you through some of the finest scenery in Europe. Enjoy a drive along the entire length of Loch Ness and a visit to Inverness. If you only have time for one tour – this is the one!
Our journey starts with wonderful views of Stirling, with its Majestic Castle standing guard over the surrounding countryside. Next we travel to Callander, the Gateway to the Highlands.
We travel through Rob Roy MacGregor country then enjoy the views as our coach climbs the "Black Mount” to reach the remote beauty of Rannoch Moor beyond. This unspoilt landscape extends over 50 square miles and is one of the most remote areas of Europe!
We will make a photo stop in haunting Glen Coe where 40 members of the Clan MacDonald were slaughtered by the Government troops of the Campbell Clan. Next we cross the Ballachulish Bridge and make our way to Fort William whose scenic location on the banks of Loch Linnhe and in the shadow of Ben Nevis makes it a popular tourist centre.
The grandeur of the Great Glen is just a foretaste to the highlight of our day together – mysterious Loch Ness! We’ll drive along the entire length of Loch Ness, stopping for a photograph at Urquhart Castle. There is a stop at the World famous Loch Ness Centre where you can learn more about Loch Ness and its most famous resident. Why not take time to enjoy a monster-spotting cruise on the deepest part of the loch?
It’s a short drive to Inverness, the Capital of the Highlands, before we make our way south towards the Spey Valley and through the stunningly beautiful Cairngorm National Park. There will be a brief meal stop in Perthshire before we drive towards Perth and through the Kingdom of Fife. We will end our tour with a drive across the dramatic Forth Road Bridge.
What a monster day out!
