From Edinburgh travel towards Stirling. Youll get good views of its famous castle before leaving the highway and heading for the Highlands. Theres a chance to visit 14th Century Doune Castle, before travelling through impressive Glen Ogle. After lunch there is a visit to Inveraray which sits on the banks of Loch Fyne. Why not take time out to visit its impressive castle? Return to Edinburgh through the Arrochar Alps, the Rest and be Thankful pass and Loch Lomond.

Our journey starts with wonderful views of Stirling, with its Majestic Castle standing guard over the surrounding countryside. Next there's a chance to visit magnificent Doune Castle * (which featured in the cult movie Monty Python and the Holy Grail' and the TV series "Outlander).

Shortly we cross from the Lowlands into the Highlands and are rewarded with views of lovely Loch Lubnaig before driving through "bonnie Strathyre to reach Rob Roy MacGregor country beyond.

There are views of Loch Earn before we climb through impressive Glen Ogle, stopping nearby for lunch and beautiful views of the surrounding scenery.

After time for lunch we tour through Glen Lochy to admire spectacular Kilchurn Castle, majestically situated on Loch Awe, and beautifully framed by the surrounding mountains.

Our next stop is Inveraray, a quaint small town built in the mid-18th Century. Here we can visit Inveraray Castle*(April - October only), the historic home of the Duke of Argyll, chief of the Clan Campbell, which is nestled in large beautiful gardens overlooking Loch Fyne. Alternatively, explore the town's white-washed Georgian houses, wide streets and vistas across the loch.

Our journey southwards to Glasgow takes us through the dramatic "Rest and be Thankful pass then into the Argyll Forest Park. Look out for "The Cobbler a just one of the peaks of the "Arrochar Alps.

Romantic Loch Lomond is next and when we make our last stop of the day in the picturesque conservation village of Luss you'll have a chance to discover the "bonnie, bonnie banks for yourself!

From Loch Lomond we follow the Kilpatrick Hills towards Glasgow then across the Central Belt of Scotland to Edinburgh.

Each tour is led by an experienced driver/guide who will provide an informative and entertaining commentary in English. Youll hear tales of the Clans, bloody battles and the famous characters that have shaped the history of Scotland. You will learn too of the landscape that surrounds you and of the nature that makes Scotland so special. Be ready to have a laugh as well - youre bound to be told some really corny jokes!  
Tell me more about Inveraray Castle?
Romantic Inveraray Castle Gardens sits on the shores of Loch Fyne and is one of Scotlands finest stately homes. The ruggedness of the highland scenery serves as a spectacular backdrop for the sheltered tidal Loch, beside which nestles the present Castle built between 1745 and 1790.The ancestral seat of the Dukes of Argyll, Chiefs of the Clan Campbell whose family have resided in Inveraray since the early 15th century. Visitors enter the famous Armoury Hall containing some 1300 pieces including Brown Bess muskets, Lochaber axes and 18th century Scottish broadswords. They can also view preserved swords from the Battle of Culloden. The fine State Dining Room and Tapestry Drawing Room contain magnificent French tapestries which were woven especially for the Castle, fabulous examples of Scottish, English and French furniture and countless other precious artworks. The castles priceless collection of china, silver and family heirlooms spans generations which are illustrated by the fascinating genealogical display in the Clan Room. Fans of Downton Abbey will recall that Inveraray had a starring role during a two-hour special where the Grantham family and staff travelled north to the home of their cousins, the Marquess and Marchioness of Flintshire in their mythical Scottish home, Duneagle Castle.
Inveraray Castle is open to the public between April and October.
How many people will be in the group?
The group size is normally between 29 and 33 passengers. At times of peak demand (such as on public holidays) larger coaches may be used.
What features will the coach have?
You will usually travel in a modern eco-friendly mini or midi touring coach which is equipped with air-conditioning, comfortable reclining seats, large picture windows and seat belts. Please note that the coach does not have an on-board toilet - stops will be made where there are public toilets available.
Will there be stops for meals and are they included in the price of the tour?
Meals are not included in the tour price, but we will make stops where you can get refreshments and something to eat. If you wish, you can bring a packed lunch or pick up lunch items at a previous stop. Vegetarian food is widely available. 
Do you offer a hotel pick-up service?
We know that you will want to start your tour straight away rather than spending valuable time travelling around hotels. By offering a single centrally located departure point we can get you to Scotlands best scenery as quickly as possible.
Can I book seats on the coach?
The seating on the coach is not allocated so you are free to sit in any vacant seat. We recommend that groups arrive at the boarding point together so that you can be seated in the same part of the coach.
